- Lilani Dunn has been appointed as executive director of the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association, which is headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, U.S.A. Dunn previously held the role of the organization’s vice president of marketing and, before that, marketing director.
"I look forward to strengthening Bristol Bay's brand value for the benefit of our members. We know the market situation is daunting right now, but I see a lot of opportunity for Bristol Bay to shine,” Dunn said in a LinkedIn release.
Dunn’s appointment follows the January resignation of Andy Brink, who held the same role.
- Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A.-based seafood restaurant chain Captian D’s appointed Nan Ward as its COO.
Ward has worked for the restaurant chain for 12 years as a human resources manager, director of training, and chief people development officer.
"Over the past 12 years with Captain D's, Nan has made a defining impact on the company across many disciplines. She has a vast, hands-on background in operations and pairs it with savvy business acumen. It's a powerful combination that ensures Nan will excel as COO, leading our operations to even higher levels of excellence as we push into new regions," Captain D’s CEO and President Phil Greifled said in a release.
Captain D’s operates more than 530 fast-food seafood restaurants across 23 U.S. states. The chain recently announced its plan to open three New York-based locations via its first franchise development agreement in the region, collaborating with experienced multi-brand franchisees Kelly Moughal and Muhammad Saleem, who first introduced the Checkers brand to Manhattan and own multiple Subway and Little Caesars locations, to execute the plan, Captain D’s said.
The agreement calls for new restaurants to be built on Manhattan and Long Island, with the first Captain D’s expected to open there in late 2024. The design of the New York City-area restaurants will be customized for each site's considerations and will cater to the demands of an urban market with limited space and increased foot traffic, the chain said.

“I am truly happy to welcome Cedric as a part of our executive management. We have, during the last [few] years, built a solid position in the Chinese market, created a strong global market position within the shrimp feed segment, and started the penetration of the Vietnamese market. There is huge potential for further growth in Asia, and I am sure Cedric is bringing both the right entrepreneurial spirit and the solid management experience we need to accelerate further growth in the region,” BioMar CEO Carlos Diaz said in a release.
