James Geoghegan took home the first place win at this year's Oyster Shucking Competition at Seafood Expo North America. This was the 10th annual competition at the show.
Geoghegan now has the title of the fastest shucker in the East over second place competitor Deborah Pratt, third place finisher Steve Boreen, fourth place finisher Eddie Bell, and fifth place finisher Gardner Douglas.
This year's competition was judged by Skip Bennett of Island Creek Oysters, Jeff Pearson of Taylor Shellfish Farms, Brian Yip of Fanny Bay Oysters and Amedee Savoie of BeauSoleil Oysters.
