Nine seafood companies from Nova Scotia, Canada have joined together to jointly represent the industry from their home province at Seafood Expo North America, taking place 6 to 8 March in Boston.
Exhibiting companies from Nova Scotia who will be jointly exhibiting at booth #1333 at SENA include Bluenose Seafood, Clearwater Seafoods, Fisher King Seafoods, Louisbourg Seafoods, Sea Star Seafoods, St. Mary’s River Smokehouses, Top Claw Lobster & Seafood and United Trans Co.
“We're proud of our fishing industry and its commitment to innovative harvesting, sustainability, and continuous product diversification, which Nova Scotia companies will showcase at Seafood Expo North America,” said Laurel Broten, president and CEO of Nova Scotia Business, the province’s business development agency.
Nova Scotia is Canada's largest exporter of fish and seafood, with exports valued at CAN 1.67 billion (USD 1.25 billion, EUR 1.13 billion) in 2015. Lobster represented 53 percent of Nova Scotia’s exports in 2015, followed by snow crab (11 percent), scallop (11 percent) and shrimp (8 percent). The value of seafood manufacturing shipments in Nova Scotia was CAD 794 million (USD 596 million, EUR 542 million) in 2015.
