- El Segundo, California U.S.A.-based seafood company Chicken of the Sea hired three new members to its leadership team.
Tiffany Hicks has been appointed as the senior vice president for foodservice and wholesale; Amanda Duran was appointed as senior director consumer overseeing club channel and some retail accounts; and Sonia Merges was named sales manager for foodservice and wholesale.
“We pride ourselves on our customer relationships and team – both have been crucial in positioning COSFF as a leader in the industry,” Chicken of the Sea Frozen Foods Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Brenden Beck said in a release. “We are excited to welcome these talented professionals to further strengthen our organization, expertise, and service.”
The company also promoted Michael Richards to senior vice president in the commercial category.
-Miguel Angel Gonzalez Ezquerra (pictured) has left his position at Nueva Pescanova as its global chief marketing, innovation, and communications officer. Gonzalez Ezquerra joined Nueva Pescanova in May 2020. He did not respond to SeafoodSource's request for comment on the reason for his departure.
“Last week was my last in almost four years of adventures, with great successes such as obtaining a positive net result and 80 million EBITDA for the first time since [my arrival], but above all with great people,” Ezquerra wrote on LinkedIn. “There are many things to tell, many anecdotes to remember, and many stories to keep quiet, but above all, there is pride in what we did and a great desire for them to continue improving until they put that great brand, one of the 10 best in food and beverages in Spain, where it deserves [to be].”
-Susanna Wingard Brian has left The Fishin' Company and rejoined the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as its manager of seafood markets. She worked for The Fishin’ Company for a year and two months as its director of sustainability and traceability, according to her LinkedIn.
Brian previously worked at WWF beginning in 2018, holding various positions as program manager, interim manager, and environmental consultant.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as manager [of] seafood markets at World Wildlife Fund,” Brian wrote on LinkedIn.
- Des Moines, Iowa U.S.A.-based global ingredient manufacturing company Kemin has appointed Joao Marcelo Gomes as its president of animal nutrition and health. Gomes has been with the company since 2019 as president of animal nutrition and health in South America.
"I'm eager to join the EMENA region and work together to continue the team's success, execute Kemin's growth strategy, and take the business to the next level," Gomes said. "Over the past few years, Kemin has invested significantly in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa region with new production sites, innovative technologies, and local experts supporting customers. In the upcoming years, we will continue to focus our efforts on feed efficiency, feed protection, animal productivity, and cost reduction all while investing in efficiency and progress toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions."
