Former Ipswich Shellfish Group and Slade Gorton & Co. executive Dana Bartholomew has joined Bristol Seafood as the new vice president of sales for the Portland, Maine-based seafood supplier, the company announced on 25 October.
In his new role, Bartholomew will lead the charge on further developing Bristol’s growing portfolio of regional and national sales accounts – a task the seafood veteran is well suited for, according to Bristol Seafood President and CEO Peter Handy.
“Dana brings a wealth of seafood experience and l am pleased to have him join our leadership team. I look forward to working with him to share our uncompromising Maine standards with more consumers,” Handy said.
Bristol booked record-breaking sales for the second consecutive year in 2016, and recently became the first company to earn a Fair Trade certification for seafood harvested in U.S. waters. The seafood firm is also certified to the Marine Stewardship Council’s chain of custody standard, and operates an SQF certified processing plant out of Portland, Maine.
“I am thrilled to be a member of Bristol Seafood," Bartholomew, who held similar sales leadership positions at Ipswich and Slade Gorton, said. "Peter and his team have developed a world-class organization based upon quality, integrity, innovation, and service, and I look forward to helping it build on its recent growth."
