The city of Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. has implemented a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for indoor spaces including the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, the host location of the 2022 edition of Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America.
Beginning 15 January, 2022, individuals will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to enter certain indoor spaces in Boston, including convention centers and exhibition halls, as part of the city’s “B Together” initiative. The 2022 Seafood Expo North America, operated by Portland, Maine, U.S.A.-based Diversified Communications, is scheduled to take place 13 to 15 March, 2022. “With many things changing in the world right now, we want to assure you that as we continue to plan for Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America in Boston, the health and safety of our exhibitors, attendees, sponsors, speakers and staff is our top priority,” Diversified Communications said in a statement posted on the Health and Safety Information page of Seafood Expo North America’s website. “We continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as updates and recommendations from public health officials, federal, state and local authorities, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO). We are in close collaboration with the venue, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, which is open for business and holding safe and successful events. Additionally, we are working with leading event industry associations globally as they develop guidelines for the events industry.”
To enter the convention center, the city of Boston now requires visitors to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in the form of a CDC vaccination card, a digital image of a CDC card, an image of any official immunization record, the City of Boston app, or any other COVID vaccine verification app. Additionally, attendees, exhibitors, vendors, and staff will be required to wear a mask while indoors during the event.
